History
In 1980 the Dunn family opened a branch of M&L Electric in Binghamton, New York. With the retirement of the founder the name of the business was changed to Dunn Electric and continued to operate on Alice Street in Binghamton until 1989 when it was relocated to Pearl Street in Endwell, New York. This relocation gave Dunn Electric the much needed warehouse space and better loading dock capabilities to accommodate the growing business. As always we strive to be a full service electrical distributor with a varied line of quality products to better serve our customers.
The year 1990 brought another facet of change as we incorporated the challenge of doing custom electrical assembly for Medical Coaches, a large manufacturing company specializing in mobile units such as TV broadcast trailers and vehicles specifically designed to serve as mobile MRIs, PET/CT scans, dental clinics and much more. Each year has added more opportunities to serve large companies in our area with our custom assembly abilities.
2001 saw a shift in ownership at Dunn Electric. Toni Dunn took the place of Tom Dunn as majority share holder, making Dunn Electric a woman owned business. Tom and Toni run the business as a partnership and as a result, Dunn Electric has never been more successful. With each partner continuing to add their own special qualities to the overseeing of daily operations, Dunn Electric continues to grow and provide the best quality products, value added services and unbeatable customer service.
In 2005 Dunn Electric underwent another major change by once again relocating, this time back to Binghamton, on the corner of route 7 and Robinson street where the business presently operates. An increase in showroom space and the new convenient location next to the junction of I-81, route 17, route 7 and route 11 makes Dunn Electric even more customer friendly. One electrical contractor even referred to Dunn Electric as "a true one stop shop for electrical supplies."
April 2009 saw the launch the Dunn Electric Supply web site. The web site aims to provide a wealth of information for current and prospective customers, offering a variety of resources such as online electrical tools, promotions, customer forms, contact information, featured manufacturers, directions to Dunn Electric and so much more. Updating and upgrading the web site is a continual effort, striving to offer more services that may better serve customers.
